Future Shaper
A chance to get hands-on with other young people in the Bega Valley - turning youth ideas for a better future into reality.
Bega Valley Future Shaper is an out-of-school hours program open to anyone between the ages of 12 and 24 with the courage and determination to collaborate with others to bring to life great ideas for local young people.
Future Shaper is a chance to get hands-on with other young people who are taking the ideas from the Bega Valley Youth Forum and creating real-world initiatives to help make positive change for local young people.
Future Shaper gives young people, with wide-ranging interests and lifestyles, the opportunity to come together in an inclusive way, to drive change.
Build skills and experience
By joining Future Shaper you’ll be making a real contribution to a better life for young people, while building skills and experience for your future work or study ambitions. You’ll receive a written reference to accompany your CV.
Future Shaper is a great way to meet new people, have fun and gain the satisfaction of making meaningful change.
There’s a place for you as a Future Shaper
The level of your commitment to Future Shaper is entirely up to you. You might want to form a group to work on your own change project with the support of one of our community-based mentors or have a more hands-off role offering ideas, support and guidance for a big group project.

Future Shaper Camp
A small group of young people came together at the Future Shaper camp in July 2022 to begin turning ideas for a better life in the Bega Valley shire into a reality.

Future Shaper Pop-Ups
During August 2022, a series of pop-up sessions were held at libraries across the shire to support young people transform their ideas into Future Shaper project proposals.

Future Shaper Mixer
In August 2022, a mixer event for young people and potential potential Future Shaper project mentors was held at the start of the Festival of Daring Possibilities.
