Waste disposal vouchers are available to property owners electronically through our Waste App and here on our website. The vouchers are issued in August and December of each year expiring on 31 July of the following year.
Your free waste vouchers are now available through our Waste App. No longer sending out with rates notices, which means no more lost or forgotten waste vouchers – and less waste!
How to get your free waste voucher:
Use the print function on your browser to print your voucher or take a screen shot on your phone.
Need some more help? Watch this short clip on how to access your vouchers
Don't have the app? Click on the below button to access your voucher.
Electronic vouchers can be transferred between people by sharing a screenshot, so it’s easy for people to pass them onto family, friends and tenants.
We do appreciate that not everyone has access to a mobile phone with Apple or Android app services. If this is you, you can request for a paper vouch to be sent out to you by filling in the Request a paper voucher form. Or feel free to call us on 6499 2222.
Yes! The only difference of course is they are not paper and no longer adding to the problem of waste going to landfill. You will still get two vouchers to use on general or garden waste disposal, or on our fantastic FOGO compost. The e-vouchers will be available on the Waste App in August and December of each year, expiring on 31 July of the following year.
You already are! All you need to do is download or update our Waste App on your Apple or Android phone, tap ‘Waste Vouchers’ on the main menu, enter your residential address and rates assessment number and your e-voucher is good to go.
When you arrive at the tip, just show the screen to one of our staff and they will scan it just like a paper voucher.
Yes, just screenshot your voucher, send it to a friend and they can use it for you. All e-vouchers can only be scanned once.
On 21 November 2012 and again in September 2015, Council resolved to provide waste disposal vouchers for use at Council's waste and recycling facilities.
While the total value of the voucher program has not changed, in October 2016 the decision was made to split each voucher into two smaller volume vouchers. This enables residents to present their vouchers for smaller loads.
Each waste disposal voucher entitles the property owner to dispose of half (0.5) cubic metre of general waste at no charge, subject to restrictions on particular waste types.
Waste disposal vouchers are provided to all rateable properties and are intended to assist with the cost of disposing of larger bulky household items, for which kerbside collection services are not available.
It is anticipated that the provision of waste disposal vouchers will assist in reducing illegal dumping incidents, by providing an incentive for people to take their excess household waste to a Council waste and recycling facility.
Yes, you can contact us on 02 6499 2222 to request go back to the paperless e-voucher.
No, if you have already filled out the form to request a paper voucher, it will be recorded on your rates assessment and automatically be posted to you each year.
Each voucher allows free tipping of either:
Vouchers may be used for partial payment for loads with a dollar value greater than the equivalent of half (0.5) cubic metre of general (mixed) waste, as per Council’s adopted fees and charges provided that:
You may present either a single or multiple vouchers for any single load.
Multiple loads will not be accepted with a single voucher.
The use of vouchers will be recorded in Council's electronic records management system.
Our new e-vouchers means no more missing vouchers.
