Accessibility features of our site

Browser support

We aim to support most modern web browsers for both desktop and mobile devices. We recommend that you regularly update your browser to ensure the best compatibility with modern website technologies and to take full advantage of any new features or security fixes rolled out by the vendor. When testing our websites for compatibility we utilise:

  • Apple Safari
  • Google Chrome
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Mozilla Firefox

Visitors using older browsers (such as Internet Explorer) are likely to experience display issues with certain sections of the website.

Images

All images should have an alternate text description to provide information to users of screen readers or those who turn off images in their web browser. Images should also be appropriately sized to optimise bandwidth and page load times.

Navigation and links

  • Page content can be navigated using only a keyboard

PDFs and other document types

Some information on our websites are not available as HTML web pages and may be in the form of a Portable Document Format (PDF) or Microsoft Word document. We understand that these file types are not accessible to everyone, but some times there are limitations that prevent us from creating content as HTML. If you wish to view content but cannot due to the document type, please contact us so we can arrange for a suitable format to be provided to you.

Responsiveness

Our websites are designed to 'respond' to different viewing device widths. This is achieved through techniques such as providing a collapsed menu and stacking page elements vertically for smaller screens for example. The result is a completly fluid website which provdes access to content whether you are using your smart phone, tablet or desktop computer.

Text size and colour

Text on our sites use flexible font sizes and can be increased or descreased using your browser settings or assistive technologies. Text colours and background colours are based on recommended contrast levels to support those with vision impairments.
