Community grants program variation request

If your grant funded community project requires an extension of time, or can't be delivered as planned, please complete and submit our online variation request form.

Guidelines for a variation request

The last few years have shown that things don’t always go to plan. We understand the impacts are still unfolding as communities recover and rebuild. If your grant funded community project requires an extension of time, or can not be delivered as planned, please complete the form below so we can work with you on a grant variation.

If approved, you could be provided with:

  • an extension of time
  • the option to vary quantities and amounts of approved budget items, or
  • the option to vary the agreed project outcomes.

Please note, some funding agreements cannot be extended. Variations may not be approved if:

  • the grant is provided under joint funding with another government organisation
  • items are ordered, committed to or purchased before the variation is approved
  • the items are not considered to be in line with the original purpose of the grant
  • if the expected project completion date is too far from the original acquittal date.

So we can work together on the best solution, submit your variation for consideration before spending any grant funds. Ensure you provide clear, concise information and a strong justification to enable efficient consideration of your variation request. If required, we may request additional documentation to support the request.

Changes to approved items require approval and will be considered in line with the original purpose of the grant. If approved, you will be required to sign an updated grant agreement confirming the changes.

Please allow 4 weeks to receive notification of an outcome.
