Six community organisations will receive financial assistance from Bega Valley Shire Council through its Community Partnership Fund for the first quarter of 2015-16.
The organisations will each receive a share of $29,660 in grants and ‘in kind’ services to assist with local community events.
Eden Whale Festival will receive $5,000 in cash and $460 of ‘in kind’ support for traffic management barriers and cleaning of amenities for the 2015 Eden Whale Festival.
Merimbula Tourism was allocated $15,000 for New Year’s Eve pyrotechnics for two firework displays, plus entertainment and some infrastructure and $550 ‘in kind’ for traffic barriers.
Eden Chamber of Commerce will receive $5,000 to pay a subcontractor for pyrotechnics displays in Eden on New Year’s Eve.
Bega Showjumping Club was allocated $1,000 as a contribution towards the hire of the showground for the 2015 Bega Showjumping Cup.
Merimbula Gift will receive $1,000 for water, trophies, programs and flyers and official timekeepers’ payment for the 2015 Merimbula Gift running race.
Friends of the Old Bega Hospital was allocated $1,000 to for the 2015 Spring Festival to fund promotion, equipment hire, food and entertainment and $650 ‘in-kind’ for printing of flyers and traffic barriers.
