Bega Valley Shire Council works will commence at the Bar Beach site next week.
The works relate to improved accessibility and also include work to conserve a midden exposed and eroded by storms.
Council’s Leisure and Recreational Services Manager, John Grady, said the accessibility works include widening paths to improve accessibility to the existing picnic table and BBQ area.
“A small concrete kerb ramp will also be constructed near the beach viewing platform to improve access to the foreshore rock shelf.
“The new path will require some amendments to the existing shower, including construction of a small stone retaining wall and some modifications to the shower deck area.
“The conservation works involve the completion of rock armour placement and the addition of locally occurring native vegetation to cover the midden site.
“All works are in line with an Aboriginal Heritage Impact Permit issued by NSW Office of Environment & Heritage,” Mr Grady said.
