Bega Valley Regional Gallery is seeking expressions of interest from local artists, creatives, performers and musicians for its August extravaganza, ART MONTH Sapphire Coast.

“In 2021, our premier ‘in real life’ edition of ART MONTH Sapphire Coast will bring together and showcase our region’s diverse artistic talent, with studio trails, live entertainment, engaging events and exhibitions across the Sapphire Coast,” Gallery Director, Iain Dawson said.

“We have a wealth of extremely talented artists and performers in the Bega Valley and this is a great opportunity to showcase their talents to cultural tourists and audiences from across the region.

“If you have a great idea for an exhibition, performance or event in August, we want to hear about it.

“It could be live music, an open studio, film night, dance class, cabaret performance, theatre, walking tour, cultural experience, poetry reading, comedy night or something completely new and innovative.”

An annual event, ART MONTH Sapphire Coast’s main aim is to stimulate cultural tourism and economic recovery for the Sapphire Coast region during the traditionally quieter tourism period.

It also provides growth and development opportunities for our region’s artists, performers and musicians, ensuring a strong ongoing future for the creative industries of the far south coast.

“We have a limited number of bursaries available to support participants, the conditions of which are detailed in our terms and conditions,” Mr Dawson said.

“Entry to participate is free and applications must be submitted by Friday 21 May.”

ART MONTH Sapphire coast is supported by South East Arts and Bega Valley Shire Council’s tourism service provider, Destination Marketing Sapphire Coast, with core funding from Bendigo Bank Community Enterprise Foundation and the Australian Government’s Regional Tourism Bushfire Recovery Program.
