Weekly prizes and a lucky draw for an iPad mini are some of the incentives available to keep children and teens reading this summer with the Bega Valley Shire Library’s Summer Reading Club.
Lost Worlds is the theme of the Summer Reading Club which is open to children and teenagers aged up to 18 years.
Partnerships and Programs Officer, Scott Baker said children and teenagers can explore fantasy worlds, alternate universes, underwater cities and mythical creatures through library books and ebooks.
“The Summer Reading Club will kick off with four launch parties starting at Bega and Bermagui libraries on Tuesday 5 January, Merimbula library portal on Wednesday 6 January and Eden library on Thursday 7 January. All parties will start at 10:30am.
“Anyone who signs up for the Summer Reading Club will be entered into a draw for some weekly prizes and an iPad Mini,” he said.
Summer reading Club registrations will open for library members from Monday 4 January 2016 and all participants will receive a gift bag at registration.
Libraries will also offer a range of holiday activities including a movie morning, animation workshop, design your own t-shirt, make a piñata, treasure hunt and special storytimes throughout January.
