Bega Valley Shire Council advises geotechnical investigation works are scheduled on Big Jack Mountain Road on Tuesday 5 August, weather permitting.

This marks the first stage of flood restoration works aimed at improving the road’s durability and protecting the road surface from damage in future weather events.

The works will be carried out between Burragate and New Buildings, approximately 2.4km north of the intersection with Wyndham Street, Burragate.

Changed traffic conditions with traffic control will be in place for the duration of the works. Road users should expect delays.

Council thanks the community for their patience while these important works are undertaken.

Once this stage is finished, a block retaining wall will be constructed to stabilise the embankment.

Council will provide further updates in the coming weeks, including opportunities for community feedback.

This project is supported through the jointly funded Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
