Bega man John Reynolds has been appointed to the Bega Valley Shire Council Access Advisory Committee which operates to assist Council in reducing barriers and improving access to local facilities and services.
Mr Reynold’s appointment will fill a vacancy in the committee, restoring the number of members to 10. He joins the committee until the end of its current term in June 2016.
A former sales and administration manager for Bega Cheese, Mr Reynolds is also a past member of Council’s General Sportsground and Recreation Committee and a former secretary of the Far South Coast Cricket Association.
He is currently a trustee of the Old Bega Hospital Reserve Trust and a volunteer at the Lumen Christi Catholic College.
Council’s delegate to the Access Advisory Committee Cr Sharon Tapscott, said Mr Reynolds will bring a good depth of skills and experience to the committee and is a dedicated community advocate.
“The AAC is an important committee that assists Council to reduce accessibility barriers and to help us in the development process of new projects and facilities,” she said.
