Sapphire Coast beaches have returned great results from the Office of Environment and Heritage in this week’s Beachwatch testing.
Most of our beaches in the Bega Valley Shire received the highest rating possible, with results showing less than 41 Enterococci colony forming units (CFU) per 100ml of water.
Even though Cocora beach received a ‘fair’ rating, it is still suitable to swim in.
The threshold for water not suitable for swimming is more than 201 enterococci CFU/100ml.
Beachgoers can swim and play with confidence, knowing that the Sapphire Coast still offers some of the cleanest beaches in NSW.
