Exhibition of the draft Use of Public Land (Local Approvals) Policy
Council has resolved to exhibit the draft Use of Public Land (Local Approvals) Policy. Have your say on this draft Policy.
The aim of the draft Policy is to provide a clear pathway for certain activities that can be approved through a Local Approval process on Council-managed land through a streamlined approval process. The draft Policy includes legislative requirements and information for the application process in one location to assist with the approval process. The draft Policy has been reviewed in line with relevant actions of the Bega Valley Local Strategic Planning Statement 2040.

The draft Policy aims to facilitate activities that will assist in the activation of the Bega Valley Shire’s public spaces. This is aimed to be achieved through al fresco dining, parklet activation, and more targeted opportunities for mobile food vending and fixed point of sale vending in proximity to our town centres, while limiting negative impacts upon established retail food and drink premises.

Comments about the draft Policy are welcome during the exhibition period which runs from Tuesday 15 March to Sunday 2 May 2021.
