Community Lands Generic Plan of Management

The draft Bega Valley Shire Community Lands Generic Plan of Management will be on public exhibition from Monday, 26 April to Monday, 7 June 2021.

The draft Bega Valley Shire Community Land Generic Plan of Management (PoM) is one of a suite of documents that provide the framework for the planning, operation and management of Council’s recreation, natural and building assets. This draft PoM applies to Community Land that is owned by Council and Crown land managed by Council.

The draft PoM outlines how the cultural and recreational resources managed by Council, such as the parks, natural areas, sporting fields and community/cultural facilities, can be used by the public, developed or conditions under which they may be leased, while being sustainably managed for the future. It is primarily aimed at addressing Council’s requirements under the Local Government Act 1993 and Crown Lands Management Act 2016. The PoM provides higher order management principles and policy requirements and is not designed to provide detailed capital work or maintenance programs. These details will be found in Landscape Master Plans or Asset Management Plans.
