Shire wide pool pass on the way

Friday 18 September 2015

Bega Valley Shire Council is pleased to offer Shire wide swimming pool passes for the first time in the coming summer season.

People will be able to purchase booklets of 20 tickets that can be used per person at any shire pool.

The individual tickets will be fully transferable to anyone,  and by using the tickets  patrons will be able to access the six Council owned pools in Eden, Pambula Beach (Sapphire Aquatic Centre), Candelo, Bega, Bemboka and Cobargo.

Manager of Leisure and Recreation John Grady said that Council had received valuable feedback from the community and worked with the contracted operators at Cobargo, Bega and Candelo pools to enable entry to all Shire pools.

“The Shire wide pool passes will provide a great option to semi regular users or those that travel to different towns across the shire.

“They are all very different and it is well worth checking them all out. The 50m pool in the rural setting at Candelo, for example, surprises many first time visitors.

“This is a fantastic way to stay healthy and have fun across the Shire no matter where you are,” he said.

The pricing works out to be a 10 per cent discount off general admission for the seasonal outdoor pools. The discount is much more when using Sapphire Aquatic Centre.

The ticket booklets are at the printers now and will be available to purchase from the Council in Bega, and the Sapphire Aquatic Centre before the outdoor pools open on 3 October.

The operators at Bega Pool are keen to get the season started and will open from 21 September.
