To mark the anniversary of the Black Summer bushfires, Bega Valley Shire pools will offer free entry on Saturday and Sunday, 6 and 7 March.
“We are committed to supporting our community during our recovery and our free pool weekend provides a great opportunity for community members to connect, relax and enjoy themselves,” Aquatic and Leisure Facilities Coordinator, Nic Hoynes said.
“People might want to consider travelling to another town for a swim and making a day of it.”
Bookings can be made in person or by phoning your local swimming pool. Due to COVID restrictions, maximum capacities will apply, and access may be restricted based on swimmer numbers or space available.
Free entry will not be available until after 12noon for Bega Pool on Saturday 6 March and Cobargo Pool on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 March due to scheduled programs and pool availability.
Sapphire Aquatic Centre will have reduced multi-purpose pool availability before 12.30pm on Saturday 6 March due to scheduled programs.
Free entry does not apply to program fees or special events, for example Bega Business House Relay.
COVIDSafe plans will be in place for each swimming pool, with the following requirements:
