Council is seeking input for the development of a new Recreation Strategy for the Bega Valley.
Council is developing a strategy to guide the future management, renewal and provision of Council-managed recreational assets.
We are seeking input from the community to understand their needs for sporting and recreational facilities in the Bega Valley, which will inform how our strategy document is created.
The adopted strategy will guide decision-making around our asset renewal and development within the Parks and Recreation department and also guide development of new assets where they are needed.
This project involves multiple stages of consultation.
The first stage looks at understanding how the community feel about local Parks and Recreation assets, including what they enjoy and what should be improved.
The assets we are focusing on are:
You have three survey options:
For this survey, we are using a new tool. We are eager to see how the community would set the budget for Sports and Recreation Facilities in the shire.
This is a way for community members to put forward their views on how resources could be spent. It lets community members set the priorities in their own budget breakdown for both capital investment (new assets) and operational and maintenance expenses (e.g. mowing and maintaining assets).
When using the tool, ensure your balance sums correctly across all assets. You are given $100 to spend on maintenance and operations and $100 to spend on new assets or renewing older assets.
