Bega Valley Shire Council advises work has commenced to repair road infrastructure damage on Big Jack Mountain Road, caused by flooding and multiple landslips.
This large-scale restoration project will take about nine months to complete, spanning across 11 sites and covering about five kilometres.
A full road closure will remain in place while local contractors John Michelins & Sons carry out the work. The road will be completely blocked during construction.
Road users travelling to Cathcart are advised to detour via Mount Darragh Road and via Wyndham when travelling to Rocky Hall.
Council will keep the community informed as works progress.
We thank the community for their continued patience during this time and for their attendance at community consultation sessions.
This project is jointly funded by the Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.
