Thursday 16 February 2017 NSW Seniors Festival is held from 3-12 March.

Bega Valley Shire libraries will host morning teas and information sessions about library services for senior residents to celebrate Seniors Festival in March.

The NSW Seniors Festival is held from 3 - 12 March with the theme of ‘Let’s do More Together’.

Programs and Partnerships Officer, Scott Baker said the library event is a chance for seniors to meet other people and to chat to library staff about the everyday services they offer.

“People are often surprised to discover the range of services libraries offer now; from technology help to our Home Library Service and family history resources,” he said.

“The Home Library Service enables homebound residents to use the library through regular and tailored home deliveries of books, magazines, DVDs and audio books.

“The service is free and supported by a dedicated group of volunteers who select, pick up and deliver resources to people in their homes,” Mr Baker said.

Library Operations Team Leader, Samantha Fenton said the staff at all Shire libraries are familiar with a range of technology and social media platforms, and free technology help is always available.

“Our libraries are well supplied to support seniors with large print books, audio books, eBooks, eMagazines and we also provide free access to family history resources such as Ancestry Library Edition and we offer guidance on using this database too,” Ms Fenton said.

The ‘Let’s do More Together in the Library!’ morning teas will be held at 10.30am at:

  • Bermagui Library on Monday 6 March
  • Bega Library on Wednesday 8 March
  • Tura Marrang Library on Thursday 9 March
  • Eden Library on Friday 10 March

Bookings are limited so book early to avoid disappointment. Phone 6499 2127 or book online at www.begavalleyshirelibrary.eventbrite.com.au
