Clean Up Grant

NOW OPEN - Clean up grants aim to support organisations that are actively assisting in the clean-up of public areas by waiving or reimbursing waste fees.

Clean Up Grant (maximum of $575)

Clean Up grants aim to support organisations that are actively:

  • cleaning up public areas
  • assisting community members with complex needs, including hoarding behaviours

This grant provides up to $575 (in waste vouchers) to cover council waste facility fees associated with:

  • the disposal of general waste
  • the disposal of green waste
  • the disposal of other waste items
  • purchasing compost or mulch

 OR this grant provides up to $575 reimbursement for the costs of a small skip bin and transport fees. A quote is to be provided at application, and a tax receipt provided before reimbursement of skip bin hire expenditure.

Eligibility

Eligible organisations may include:

  • registered community welfare and health support providers
  • not-for-profit groups such as Landcare or Clean Up Australia Day groups

Background

Bega Valley Shire Council recognises the importance and significance of supporting volunteers, non-profit organisations, community groups and education providers in delivering programs and projects that have clear community benefit and align with Council's waste minimisation strategies.

The Clean Up Grant stream is a continuation of the Small Waste Grant and is intended to support organisations that actively assist in the clean-up of public areas or assist community members with complex needs, including hoarding behaviours.

Overall grant program objectives

The Program aims to encourage and assist community involvement in the management of waste minimisation and education for the benefit of the whole region.

This grant stream is not run as a competitive grant. Eligible organisations that meet the funding criteria are awarded funding on a first-come first-served basis until the grant budget is expended.
