An information session in Cobargo in early November will be an opportunity for the community to learn more about the replacement of Murrabrine Bridge on Wandella Road.
Council’s Community Development and Engagement Officer, Rebecca Jones says Council staff and a representative of construction contractor, Kenpass Pty Ltd, will provide information and answer questions about the project.
“COVID restrictions forced us to postpone the planned August information session, so we’re pleased to be able to continue the conversation we started with the community last year,” Ms Jones said.
“Informal information sessions were conducted in September last year in Cobargo and Quaama for residents and the business community where drawings, artists impressions and draft project timelines were shared.
“The feedback from those sessions has been incorporated into the project plan and overall scope for the replacement project.”
Project Manager, Andrew Stewart says site establishment works began in July, however work on the first stage of the project was delayed due to COVID impacts and re-commenced in September.
“The works will be managed in two stages, with at least one lane for through traffic open at all times,” Mr Stewart said.
“Stage one involves the construction of the western side of the new bridge while maintaining the existing bridge.”
The information session will be held on Wednesday 3 November at Cobargo School of Arts from 4pm to 5pm.
Those wishing to attend the session are asked to register online.
Numbers will be capped at 52 in line with physical distancing requirements.
In keeping with the NSW Government’s roadmap and health advice, participants over 16 years old will need to be fully vaccinated and the wearing of masks will be required.

The construction of the new Murrabrine Bridge is being funded by a combination of Federal and State government grants.
