Merimbula Airport
The Airport provides essential links for professional, legal, specialist and medical services as well as passengers for tourism, employment and business.
Merimbula Airport is a critical element of Council’s transport strategic direction and its management and the provision of Regular Passenger Transport (RPT) services into the future will be critical to ensure the best outcomes for the community.
Airport Vision
Merimbula Airport will be functional, welcoming, efficient and responsive to the region’s air transport needs as they expand and diversity. It will fulfil its role in supporting the region’s essential service provision and economic sustainability.
The Merimbula Airport will deliver on the following principles:

- Merimbula Airport should support the provision of affordable and accessible air transport services

Location
Merimbula Airport is located on Arthur Kaine Drive, two kilometres south of the Merimbula township. It has one runway designated with an asphalt surface measuring 1,602 metres x 30 metres.

Contractor Information
If you or your business have been contracted to work at Merimbula Airport you will need to speak to the Airport Manager or Aerodrome Reporting Officer (ARO) prior to the commencement of works. For all works and enquiries, please contact Merimbula Airport directly on (02) 6495 4211.
Those needing airside access must display a valid Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) or apply for a Visitor Identification Card (VIC) prior to the commencement of works.
If you need to drive a vehicle whilst airside, there are strict rules that apply.
When arriving at the airport you must notify the Airport Manager or Aerodrome Reporting Officer (ARO) and be inducted onto the site. It is Airport policy that all contractors wear high visibility clothing and appropriate PPE while on site.
Visitors
A Visitor Identification Card (VIC) or Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) must be displayed by visitors when they are airside or in a secure zone at Merimbula Airport.
If you do not hold a valid Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) you must pre register for a Visitor Identification Card (VIC).
If you are a frequent visitor we recommend that you apply for an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
Apply for an Annual Use Permit at Merimbula Airport
An Annual Use Permit allows the registered operator of a nominated light aircraft to operate from Merimbula Airport. The Annual Use Permit covers the cost of all landing and daily aircraft parking charges at Merimbula Airport for the nominated aircraft for the financial year.
