Replacement works to commence for Dignams Creek Bridge

Bega Valley Shire Council advises that works to replace Dignams Creek Bridge with a new single-lane concrete bridge will commence on Monday 31 March, with a pedestrian footbridge and parking areas scheduled to be completed by the end of this week.

Bega Valley Shire Council advises that works to replace Dignams Creek Bridge with a new single-lane concrete bridge will commence on Monday 31 March, with a pedestrian footbridge and parking areas scheduled to be completed by the end of this week.

The upgrade will enhance road user safety, resilience to natural disasters, improve traffic flow, and reduce future maintenance needs.

The first stage of works, piling works will commence on Monday 31 March and is expected to take up to one week to complete. These works will be carried out between 7am and 5pm each day, and road users should expect delays of up to 45 minutes during working hours. Vehicles will have opportunities to pass as machinery move from one pile to the next.

Once piling works are complete, the existing bridge will be demolished and the road will be closed until the new bridge is complete. This is expected to take approximately three and a half months.

Emergency services have been notified of the planned road works and bridge replacement.

The project is funded by the Transport for NSW Fixing Country Bridges Program.
