Bega Valley Shire Council advises works to replace Dignams Creek Bridge with a new single-lane concrete bridge is scheduled to commence in early March.

The upgrade will enhance road user safety, resilience to natural disasters, improve traffic flow, and reduce future maintenance needs.

A road closure will be in place from Wednesday 12 March for approximately three and a half months, weather permitting. Council will update the community again if access provisions change.

Pedestrian access will be in the form of a foot bridge across the creek and stairs up the northern bank. Due to the low level of the bridge, it may be susceptible to flooding during heavy weather episodes.

Motorists are advised to detour via Reedy Creek Road for access to Cobargo.

This project is funded by the Transport for NSW Fixing Country Bridges Program.

Council thanks the community for their patience and understanding as we work to improve this vital infrastructure.
