Here in the Bega Valley, we have three types of bins. Your bin service will depend on where you live. You can find out more about what you can put in each bin here
- Green lid bin - FOGO (food organics garden organics) – weekly where service is available
All food scraps (including vegetables, meat and bones), certified compostable FOGO caddy liners or newspaper/paper towel used to line your caddy, and garden waste. - Yellow lid bin - Recycling - fortnightly
Glass bottles/jars, clean paper products including newspaper and cardboard, metal and aluminium cans, long-life cartons, firm plastics, containers and bottles (all recycling codes). - Red lid bin - general household rubbish - fortnightly
Item that cannot be reused, recycled or composted such as nappies, styrofoam, soft plastic packaging and plastics bags.
Your bin must be out on the kerbside the night before your bin collection day. Find out how to make sure your bin gets emptied every time you put it out.

Note: All bins should be put out the night before as the trucks pick up early the next morning.

Prefer a printed calendar? You can pick one up at any Bega Valley Shire Library or from Customer Service at Bega Valley Shire Council Zingel Place in Bega. Alternatively, you can request a printed calendar online here or by phoning (02) 6499 2222
