Learn about our campaign to keep food affordable and away from landfill.
Nourish & Flourish is a Bega Valley Shire Council project that knocks two big problems on the head: it addresses food scarcity and affordability, and it keeps surplus food away from landfill sites.
It’s about redirecting surplus food from producers, supermarkets, community gardens, even your pantry, and distributing it to anyone who wants to buy affordable produce from registered outlets in Bega, Merimbula or Eden.
The local food pantries need community and local business assistance to make this project work even better. Click on the buttons below to see how you can help, and how donating your surplus food can boost your bottom line.
The more produce people buy, the more these outlets can provide for the community, and with every sprig of celery and loaf of bread sold, the happier our over-used landfill site becomes!
Get involved today. Be part of the shift to rethink and distribute affordable, surplus food that’s fresh, wholesome and good to eat.
This project was supported by NSW EPA as part of the Waste Less, Recycle More initiative, funded from the waste levy.
