The project to upgrade the playground at Bega Park off Parker Street in Bega is nearly complete.
Bega Valley Shire Council has undertaken construction work through a local contractor with playground equipment and rubber softfall installed by specialist suppliers.
The park is anticipated to be complete before Christmas, weather permitting.
The playground has been designed with inclusiveness in mind and has improved access features, boat swings, rubber softfall around play equipment, sand play areas and a low level slide utilising changes in site levels.
Rocks used for the structural foundation have been donated by both NSW Health Infrastructure and Southern NSW Local Health District.
As well as the replacement of playground equipment, repairs to the boundary fence and planting of garden beds will be done early in the new year.
