Community groups wanting a share of $5000 in Council grants for organising National Youth Week events have until Friday to submit their applications.
Council’s Youth Community Development Coordinator, Anne Cleverley said thousands of young people got behind last year’s National Youth Week.
Examples of previously funded events include, Indigenous youth workshops, film projects, art workshops, dance parties, theatre performances and awareness campaigns aimed at young people.
To qualify for a grant there is a requirement that young people be actively involved in the planning and delivery of the NYW activities.
Non-profit organisations need to be incorporated associations or be auspiced by one. There is $5,000 available for distribution and applications will be considered for projects up to $1,000.
Applications must be received before 5pm on Friday 8 January 2016 and successful organisations will be notified in February 2016.
