Bega Valley Shire Council advises the removal of some hazardous trees in Eden will be carried out from Tuesday 8 October to Saturday 12 October, weather permitting.
Local contractors will carry out the tree removal works within two work zones, along the Princes Highway between West Street and Reservoir Street.
The large old cypress and pine trees were confirmed as being unsafe, presenting a very high risk to persons and property following thorough inspections by an independent qualified arborist, after Council was alerted by community members.
The identified trees overhang the road and footpath, are in a poor state of health and are unlikely to recover.
For the duration of the tree removal works, changed traffic conditions will be in place and road users should expect minor delays.
There will also be diversions in place for pedestrian access.
Traffic control and signs will be in place.
Council thanks the community for their understanding and patience while these important works are undertaken.
