Bermagui River Boat Ramp Facilities

Upgrade current boat ramp to include concrete double ramp, parking and lighting and install a pontoon jetty.

The following scope of works has been delivered at the site:

  • replacement of the existing boat ramp with a new reinforced concrete double boat ramp;
  • installation of a finger pontoon jetty;
  • upgrade and sealing of the informal parking area;
  • upgrade of lighting; and
  • upgrade of the fish cleaning facilities.

Works have been designed and constructed within environmental and heritage regulations.

The project was jointly funded by Transport for NSW (TfNSW), Bega Valley Shire Council (BVSC) and Fisheries.

Total project funding = $885,927.22

  • TfNSW contribution = $641,316.03 via the NSW Boating Now Program
  • BVSC contribution = $224,791.19
  • Fisheries contribution = $19,820.00

Community Strategic Plan link

Feedback from the Bermagui area in response to the “Understanding Our Place” community engagement process, which subsequently informed the Community Strategic Plan (CSP), included “improved recreation facilities and spaces”. This feedback links to CSP Outcome 1 Active and Healthy Communities; specifically the second goal of this outcome of “access to good quality recreation and sporting facilities”.
