Learn more about FOGO in the Bega Valley

Food waste is a big problem in landfill, creating the harmful greenhouse gas methane as it breaks down over time and filling up our limited landfill space. Using your FOGO bin correctly allows for organics to be composted and helps protect our environment.

Yellow and green bin with contaiminated bin tags on them.Has your bin been tagged? It may mean a contaminant has been detected, such as a plastic in your FOGO bin or prohibited items such as asbestos.

You are ultimately responsible for the contents of your bin, and detection of major contamination from in-truck camera recordings may lead to further action being taken. Learn more about our Contamination Policy.
