Q. What is the role of the Community Working Group?

The CWG is made of up ten local community members who are working with the AECOM project team to assess and select the options for upgrading the STP and an alignment for the ocean outfall. They are doing this using your feedback.
The CWG first met in December 2017 to agree on the assessment process. In March 2018, they visited the STP to better understand the plant’s current condition.
In 2019 the Council in conjunction with the CWG resolved on the preferred alignment for the ocean outfall.
Bega Valley Shire Council staff and councillors did not attend the CWG meetings. AECOM are the independent facilitators.
