Bega Valley Shire Council’s new-look website is now live, with new features designed to make it easier to find the information you need.

Council’s Community, Environment and Planning Director, Alice Howe said the changes, which have been made to address feedback received from the community, include a fresh, visually appealing layout and a simplified main menu structure.

“The homepage now has six quick links to the items people have told us they access the most, such as information about councillors and careers at Council,” Dr Howe said.

“Below that are 12 icons for the most popular searches – such as bin collection times, tip opening hours, paying online, roadworks and water interruptions, lodging a DA and reporting an issue.

“There are also clear and prominent short-cut features on the homepage to news, public notices and ‘have your says’, making it easier for the community to provide feedback on Council plans and policies.”

Dr Howe said the website menu structure has been simplified to just four menus: Community, Services, Business and Council.

“We encourage people to take the time to become familiar with the new website features, including re-saving any frequently used or ‘bookmarked’ pages,” Dr Howe said.

“If you can’t find what you’re looking for, it may have moved, so try using the main menus or the website search function to find it.

“We hope the community finds the changes we’ve made a big improvement. We are continuing to refine the structure and content and welcome community feedback via the feedback function on the home page of the website.

“We thank everyone using our website over the next couple of weeks for their patience during the transition to a better online experience.”

Council’s website is at begavalley.nsw.gov.au
