Roadside and public land weed control program

Bega Valley Shire Council advises that the roadside and public land weed control program will be carried out from Monday 1 September 2024 to Monday 31 May 2025, weather permitting.

Bega Valley Shire Council advises that the roadside and public land weed control program will be carried out from Monday 1 September 2024 to Monday 31 May 2025, weather permitting.

Contractors and Council staff will be boom-spraying and spot spraying across Bega Valley Shire’s sealed road network.

Herbicides containing the following constituents may be used:

  • Flupropanate
  • Glyphosate
  • Metsulfuron methyl
  • Triclopyr
  • Picloram
  • Aminopyralid

Please note: Spot-spraying of weeds may be carried out in other areas as appropriate. Weed control as part of general maintenance of roads and road shoulders may be carried out in other areas as part of the roads program. The program is subject to weather conditions and contractor availability and may be varied according to weed growth.
