Tools and information for planning/holding a festival or an event within the Bega Valley Shire.
Events provide part of the social fabric of a community and the Bega Valley Shire is no exception.
Festivals and Events support a celebration of life, diversity, culture, and environmental sustainability in the Bega Valley Shire.
These events provide an opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate life on the far south coast, spend time with friends and family and to build social cohesion through attendance, organising and volunteering.
Events also play an important role in activating the low/shoulder season periods on the tourism calendar by attracting people to the Bega Valley Shire, supporting local businesses, employment and tourism more broadly.
Bega Valley Shire Council is keen to support volunteers run events that build on “Your place, Our place, Great place".
Grants are available once per financial year, subject to available funds. This decision aims to provide a fair and equitable process across all events in the Shire and will offer different categories of funding based on the merits and eligibility criteria of each applicant.
Applications will be assessed by an internal committee with recommendations presented to Council for approval and resolution.
