First Lap provider status for Council-managed pools

MEDIA RELEASE 2021 - Council has been approved as a NSW Government First Lap provider, which means all Council-managed pools will accept First Lap vouchers for children's swimming lessons.

Bega Valley Shire Council has been approved as a NSW Government First Lap provider, which means all Council-managed pools will accept First Lap vouchers for children’s swimming lessons.

The First Lap voucher program provides $100 vouchers for parents, guardians and carers of children aged three to six years to contribute towards the cost of swimming lessons.

The program has been expanded for the 2021/22 financial year to include children in kindergarten in 2021 and children starting kindergarten in 2022, who missed out on vital water safety education during their pre-school years due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Applications for the vouchers open today (1 December). Register now at: https://www.sport.nsw.gov.au/firstlap

Vouchers are valid for redemption up to 30 June 2022.

The externally operated Bega War Memorial and Cobargo swimming pools are also First Lap providers.
