Did you know that Australians eat about 270 million meat pies a year?  Or that the well-known pie brand, Sargents were the caterers at the official opening of Parliament House in Canberra in 1927?

You can find out more about the history of our iconic Australian fast food when you view the ‘The Meat Pie: Australia’s Own Fast Food’ display at Bermagui and Eden libraries during March.

The display traces the history of the meat pie from its origins in the ancient world to its place in our supermarket freezers today.

The display will be at Bermagui library from 3-9 March and at Eden library from 11-22 March.
