Geotechnical investigations scheduled for Rixons Bridge design

Bega Valley Shire Council advises geotechnical investigation works will be carried out at Rixons Bridge, on Wallagoot Lane, from Wednesday 26 March, weather permitting.

Bega Valley Shire Council advises geotechnical investigation works will be carried out at Rixons Bridge, on Wallagoot Lane, from Wednesday 26 March, weather permitting.

This work is essential for designing a replacement bridge, as the current bridge is due for renewal.

The work is expected to take three to four days to complete, depending on site conditions. These works are due for completion by Tuesday 1 April to avoid any conflict with the upcoming works at Ritchies Lagoon.

During this period, the bridge will be temporarily closed from 8am to 5pm each day.

Road users are advised to detour via Tathra Road or Sapphire Coast Drive.

Local access for residents and businesses along Wallagoot Lane will be maintained.

Traffic control will be present at the Tathra Road and Sapphire Coast Drive intersections.
