Repair works are underway at Quarantine Bay following the East Coast Low over the weekend of June 4,5 and 6.

The boat ramp pontoon sustained damage along with the gangway, one of the piles also becoming dislodged.

It’s one of a number of community assets Council is working to restore, as a result of the big seas, floodwaters and strong winds associated with the storm.

The pontoon can be repaired on-site, however the gangway has been removed by crane and taken to a local workshop for repair.

Initial attempts to right the pile were unsuccessful, and it may need to be replaced.

The pontoon and gangway should be repaired in the coming week or so, with the pontoon operational again once the remedial works to the pile are resolved.
