Club Grants support local community projects

Over 80 people attended the Bega Valley Club Grants presentation earlier this week, where over $98,000 was allocated to a broad range of community projects.

Over 80 people attended the Bega Valley Club Grants presentation earlier this week, where over $98,000 was allocated to a broad range of community projects.

The chairperson of the Bega Valley Club Grants Committee, Michael Mutsch, said the funding of 37 projects would benefit a range of local community activities consolidating the programs exceptional history.

Some of the 2016 projects funded include:

Recreational space for residents of Nardy House, a purpose built independent disability housing service at Quaama.
Continued support for St Vincent De Paul’s Christmas hampers for disadvantaged residents across the Shire.
Shade sails for Wyndham Primary School
Eden Fire Rural Service and Quaama Rural Fire Service for improved communication equipment
Marine Rescue NSW - Merimbula Unit, to extend their pontoon to better accommodate a new rescue boat and improve response times.

Across the last 13 years Bega Valley Club Grants have contributed close to $1.2 million to local community.
