Much needed funding is coming for a number for community organisations in the Shire, with the Clubs Grant Program set to deliver over $98,000 of project funding.

Across the last 13 years Bega Valley Club Grants have contributed close to $1.2 million to the local community.

The chairperson of the Bega Valley Club Grants Committee, Michael Mutsch said, “This funding will support a total of 37 projects, delivering a diverse range of community focussed projects and activities.”

Grants have been awarded to a range of projects that will benefit the local community including initiatives that will improve emergency service communications, raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing, mentor young people through vehicle restoration and a summer hip hop program for young Aboriginal people.

“It really is an amazing mix of endeavours that are being funded in 2016,” Mr Mutsch said.

The ceremony will be held at Club Sapphire, Merimbula on Monday 1 August from 1.30 to 2.30pm.
