Four local properties to benefit from Small Heritage Grants
MEDIA RELEASE 2021 - Four heritage-listed properties in the shire are to benefit from this year's Small Heritage Grants.

Four heritage-listed properties in the shire are to benefit from this year’s Small Heritage Grants.
Established by Bega Valley Shire Council and Heritage NSW, the grants provide funding support on a dollar-for-dollar basis so heritage property owners can complete works that support the ongoing conservation and restoration of heritage buildings and sites in the shire.
“People in our region are proud of their local history, and our heritage is an important part of the shire,” Mayor Russell Fitzpatrick said.
“Heritage-listed properties add character and distinctiveness and create a ‘sense of place’ within our communities.
“This year $11,000 has been awarded, with an additional contribution from heritage owners of $21,583, contributing a total of $32,583 towards heritage conservation in the shire.”
The 2021 grants will be used to treat and paint the rusted roof on Bega property, Narroon and connect three stormwater downpipes from the Old Bega Hospital Nurses' Quarters to a stormwater junction.
The Stables on Andy Poole Drive in Tathra will receive improved site drainage and brickwork waterproofing to prevent future water penetration, and the rusted guttering will be replaced on the Saint Mary Mackillop Museum building in Eden.
