An update on the local Easter trading laws from Mayor, Michael Britten.

“Following representations by the Council to Member for Bega, Andrew Constance, and Industrial Relations Minister, Gladys Berejiklian, we are pleased to announce that the issue of Easter trading was raised by Mr Constance in Parliament today and the previous exemption that prohibited large and other selected businesses from opening has now been amended.

“This means that all local businesses, big and small, are free to open over the whole Easter period if they wish.

“This is an excellent outcome and example of the community and various arms of government working together,” Cr Britten said.
