As a first-term Councillor, I have come into Council with an open mind and a strong commitment to our community. I recognise that navigating this path is challenging, and that decisions made impact people’s lives in different ways. Before becoming a Councillor, it was easy to make judgments on what I thought could be improved, yet as I spend more time in this role, I’ve gained a deeper understanding of the complexities involved.

I acknowledge that Council, like any organisation, can always do better. Everyone elected to Council, and our dedicated staff are here to make the community’s life better. We aim for the best outcomes, and while we can’t please everyone, we work hard to help as many as possible.

I am inspired by the great things happening in our community. Rather than focusing on challenges, I’m dedicated to celebrating our successes and building upon them. I’m always looking for opportunities to enhance our responsiveness to community’s needs.

Currently my focus is on the draft budgets and the four-year delivery plan that will guide Council’s priorities for this term. We’re facing funding gaps from rates, grants, and other sources, requiring  some tough decision making in the coming months. My focus will always be guided by what is best for the community.

Once the draft budgets and plans are ready for public review, I encourage everyone to engage and provide feedback. Your input is vital in shaping our priorities and ensuring our decisions match community needs.

I’m particularly proud of the opening of the Pambula Sporting Complex, a win for our community that promises positive impacts for years to come. A perfect example of how working together can lead to great outcomes. I look forward to participating in more initiatives like this, always prioritising the community’s needs.

Moving forward, my goal is to stay connected, listen to your feedback, and ensure that our decisions align with shared values.
