If you’re planning a spring clean or need to clear out some clutter, Bega Valley Shire Council has good news—a new set of free waste vouchers will be available in December.

The vouchers, issued twice a year in August and December, provide a convenient way for residents to dispose of household waste at any of the shire’s waste and recycling centres.

“To get the most out of this service, we encourage people to redeem their current vouchers before they expire at the end of November,” Waste Strategy Coordinator, Tim Cook said.

“Redeeming your vouchers now will also help you to skip the rush that often happens right before they expire.”

Registered users will automatically receive two new waste vouchers through the free Bega Valley Waste App and printed vouchers are available on request.

If you haven’t yet registered, download the app for access to vouchers and other useful information.

If you’re renting, you can ask the property owner for a screenshot of the free vouchers.

Each voucher covers:

  • General waste – up to 0.5 cubic metres
  • Garden waste – up to 1 cubic metre
  • One innerspring mattress.

Or pick up:

  • 1 cubic metre of compost or mulch at Eden, Merimbula, Wallagoot and Bermagui waste centres (subject to availability).

Visit Council’s website for more information on waste vouchers and the free Waste App.
