Bega Valley Shire Council warns that temporary warning signs have been illegally removed from some flood sites in the Shire.

Bega Valley Shire Council warns that temporary warning signs have been illegally removed from some flood sites in the Shire.
General Manager Leanne Barnes said the Police had been advised and were monitoring the situation.
“I urge anyone who is doing this to stop immediately and anyone who is aware of someone else who is doing it to contact the Police,” she said.
“With no road signage in place it can make certain flooded areas very difficult to see, particularly when driving at night.
“Council staff are in the process of checking and replacing signage where necessary, and we urge all road users to drive carefully.
“We have been fortunate as a community that so far there have been no serious accidents or deaths in the flood emergency. Let’s keep it that way.”
