Teenagers across the Shire are invited to find out more about creating movies with an iPad at one of the free workshops offered by Bega Valley Shire Library during Youth Week next month.
Library Programs and Partnerships Officer, Scott Baker, said the workshops will include script writing, storyboarding, production schedules, editing and everything in between.
“At the end of the day everyone will have a short movie they’ll be able to upload to social media if they wish,” he said.
“We hope that some kids will be inspired to enter the YoofTube competition based on the skills they will have learnt.”
The workshops are free and will be held at all libraries during the April school holidays between 1am and 3pm at Bermagui on Tuesday 12 April; Bega on Thursday 14 April; Merimbula portal on Monday18 April and Eden on Wednesday 20 April.
Another event to look out for during the school holidays is the Bega library’s Minecraft camp on Sunday 24 April.
“The Camp will be a whole day of Minecraft madness,” Scott Baker said.
“We will have a multiplayer server for up to 20 simultaneous players, there will be prizes and even a Minecraft Master Class.”
Participants to both movie-making workshops and the Minecraft Camp are asked to take their lunch and a water bottle. Feel free to take your own device to either event or use ones provided by the library.
Places are limited for both events with online bookings are at www.begavalleyshirelibrary.eventbrite.com.au
