Update on bridge replacement works for Dignams Creek Bridge

Bega Valley Shire Council advises that the date has been pushed back for the closure of Dignams Creek Road for the replacement of the bridge at Dignams Creek.

12 March 2025

Bega Valley Shire Council advises that the date has been pushed back for the closure of Dignams Creek Road for the replacement of the bridge at Dignams Creek.

Works were originally scheduled to commence today, Wednesday 12 March, with a bridge closure and footpath access in place.

Due to the lead times for the procurement of the pedestrian access there has been a delay to the start of works and closure of the road.

Preliminary works on site are due to commence late this week which may cause some short-term interruptions to traffic flow, however the full road closure will not be in place until the pedestrian access is operational and before the old bridge is demolished.

Council is currently contacting affected residents and apologises for any inconvenience caused by earlier communication.

It is expected that the full road closure will start in approximately two weeks. Council will update the community again prior to the closure or if access provisions change.

Council thanks the community for its patience and understanding while works are under way to upgrade this vital infrastructure.
