Bega Valley Shire Council is seeking feedback from the community on a new signage strategy to ensure consistent principles are applied to signage design, installation and location across the shire.
Acting Director Community, Environment and Planning, Emily Harrison said signage is an important part of the character of towns, villages and localities across the shire.
“With increasing visitor numbers and a population of about 35,000 people, signage is a crucial part of creating a positive and consistent experience for both residents and visitors,” Ms Harrison said.
“The draft signage strategy aims to create a positive environment for users of public land, from a way-finding and information viewpoint and a visual perspective.
“Importantly, new signage will be rolled out as the need requires – we’re not proposing a whole-scale replacement of all signage.
“We are aiming to ensure we have a consistent process to create, install, maintain and replace signage into the future, and that all relevant standards and legislative requirements are met.”
Feedback can be submitted via the Have Your Say page on our website until 11.59pm on Sunday 31 July.
