Bega Valley Shire Council is partnering with the University of Wollongong College Australia (UOWCA) to offer a free accredited training course to 15 small business owners in the Bega Valley.

Council’s Economic Development Officer Peter Wild said Planning for Business Success will teach participants how to design a targeted business plan to further their business success.

“A complete and defined business plan is one of the most valuable tools in reaching long-term goals,” Mr Wild said.

“It gives a business direction, defines objectives and maps out strategies to achieve goals.”

Planning for Business Success will commence in May and be delivered in five modules over 10 weeks through virtual group workshops, self-paced micro-learning activities, one-on-one sessions, assessment tasks and assessor feedback.

The five modules are:

  • Research and Analysis
  • Legal, Compliance and Operations
  • Marketing
  • Finance
  • Business Plan and the Future.

“At the end of the course, participants will have the information they need to create a unique business plan,” Mr Wild said.

“Upon successful assessment, participants will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment certificate.

“The course is supported by the BizRebuild Community Rebuilding Trust, the Australian Government, the NSW Government and will be delivered by experienced, qualified trainers and assessors from UOW College Australia.”

Applications close on Monday 10 April.

To find out more, or apply for the course, go to the Planning for Business Success page on Council’s website.

Planning for Business Success is funded by the Australian and NSW governments’ Bushfire Local Economic Recovery Fund and by the BizRebuild Community Rebuilding Trust.
