Bega Valley Shire Council invites senior members of the community to three free events in celebration of NSW Seniors Week.

The popular Words & Music event will again be held at Tura Marrang Library on Friday 1 April, and another will be held at Bega Library on Saturday 2 April.

Participants at Words & Music will be able to discuss books, films and music around a common theme or era, and be entertained by local musicians and performers.

Acting Library Services Coordinator, Linda Albertson said this was one of the library’s most popular programs.

“Talking about books stimulates people to share their experiences and memories, and the live musical performances add to the joyful atmosphere,” Ms Albertson said.

Free transport to the event is available on request.

Family and Local History Research sessions will also be held at Bega Library on Monday 28 March between 10am to 3pm.

“These will be fun sessions for people who want to delve into their family's past but don’t know where to start,” Ms Albertson said.

“Our volunteer historical researcher, Margaret has more than 20 years’ experience in researching family history and valuable skills and knowledge in digging into online historical records and archives.”

Book online or call the library on (02) 6499 2127.
